For three unforgettable nights, the streets of Wetse Kojo in Korle Gonno came alive with light, love and celebration. Christmas in KG — held from 24 to 26 December 2025 — was Smile Culture Foundation’s gift to the community: a dazzling festival of lights, a feast for over a thousand people, and a night of music to end the year in joy.
Day One — The Festival of Lights (24 December)
We switched on Christmas in KG with a spectacular lighting festival along the streets of Wetse Kojo. Glowing stars, illuminated arches, a towering light-tree and a much-loved reindeer transformed the neighbourhood into a wonderland. Families strolled through the lights, posed for photos and shared in the magic of the season as the community officially opened the festival together.
Day Two — A Feast for Over 1,000 (25 December)
On Christmas Day, no one in Korle Gonno went hungry. We served a hot, festive meal to more than 1,000 people — children, elders and whole families gathered around long tables to eat, laugh and celebrate together. Steaming pans of jollof, plenty of drinks and even more smiles made it a Christmas to remember.
Day Three — A Night of Music (26 December)
We closed the festival with a vibrant musical night that brought gospel and contemporary artists together with a live band and the entire community. The stage lit up, the crowd sang along, and Korle Gonno danced its way toward the new year in one joyful celebration.
